Changes on the operating system we support

Currently we provide support for

  • Android running OS 5.0 and newer
  • IPhone/IPad running IOS 12.0 and newer

Changes:

Starting August 31st 2023, only Android OS versions 8 and newer and only IPhone/IPad IOS versions 14 and newer will be supported

What happens if your operating system is no longer supported?

Before we cease providing support for your operating system, you'll be directly notified via the app or email to update your operating system. For those unable to update their device, it will not be possible to update to a newer version of the app.

What does this mean for our current shoppers?

Having the app installed on your phone will ensure its continued functionality. However, please note that you won't be able to update your app to a newer version if you have an old operating system. Additionally, in the event of any problems or issues with the app, regrettably, we won't be able to provide support or fix those issues.

We will continue to use your personal information to provide Flashfood products as outlined in our Flashfood Privacy Policy. We have a future release that will allow direct more control over the use of your personal information for supported versions. If you are unable to update your device to a supported version, you can submit a support ticket or email privacy@flashfood.com for questions about your data.

How to know if you're affected by this change:

To find your software version you can:

IOS: Go to settings → General → About → IOS version.
Android: Go to settings → About Phone → Software Information → Android Version

How we choose what to support

Your devices are updated on a regular basis and, over time, support for those devices are dropped by the providers. To choose what we stop supporting, we look at which devices and software are the oldest that might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run Flashfood.

What happens to my data stored with Flashfood in the event that I am unable to use the application?

Flashfood retains personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of Flashfood’s identified business purposes, or as otherwise necessary to comply with applicable laws. When personal information is no longer necessary or relevant, Flashfood will delete, destroy, erase, or anonymize your data. You may also submit a request to remove your data may be made by submitting a support ticket or emailing privacy@flashfood.com.
