Please remove service fees
Please remove the service fee. Or, please show us where the fees go. Is it to pay human representatives or an automated ticketing/refund service?

The new minimum of $1 plus taxes is ridiculous. If I want to go to my local Maxi to buy some cold cuts for 1.75, you are going to increase the cost to me of over 33% ?!
The straight 8% SC is not sufficient? I’m sure a lot of people will just not pay the SC and leave the items to rot.2 -
I’m with you. This 99 cent service fee is rediculous. And tax on food is also not allowed to my knowledge. We are paying a lot for expired food and then add these two fees we might as well buy top quality off the shelves. At least we know what we are getting. Some of the produce we get is rotten and the moldy bread should be going in the garbage not selling to people in need. I seriously think you should look at some of these comments and check your quality control. I feel you are setting yourselves up to lose a lot of clients.

It's abusive and destroying their business model. Really bad decision on their side.

Thanks to those who agree.
I've had to curb spending on FF because I can't justify spending the extra dollar on a single item (mostly because I tend to buy things for $5 or less). It has to be multiple items, not multiple orders (e.g., sometimes I can pool items released on different days/times so I can make one trip to the store). The 8% was already an issue, as it raised both the price and the tax. Now, if I want to buy something for 98 cents, I am paying more in service fees and added tax for a product that is almost expired.I can see this affecting the merchants' posting: items that are ~$1.00 either have to be in multiples or have a big enough discount from retail price for someone like me to buy them; I would often buy these because something for $1.00 is VERY attractive. Now, I literally wait until there are multiples for something I really need. This means fewer purchases from me.
This also affects the merchants trying to recoup costs (which I am certain they barely do at such a discounted rate, especially while I assume they are also paying FF for the service). And the cost to the merchant for their staff who have to do the work of uploading and administering the service in-store. I don't see the .99 cent minimum as a benefit to anyone but FF. FF customer service appears to be entirely automated (tickets like refunds are automatic, I don't think humans are doing this). So, again, what is the .99 minimum paying for? Server costs? Automation software? Or board/company profit?
I may not be the target for this business model, but they'll certainly lose a lot of my business as a result. I've already started to price-match and coupon-hunt again because I might as well buy new instead of almost-expired. For me to truly save, I would have to purchase more than $12 in a single order at the same location to justify the $0.99 service fee minimum. BUT, this means I'm not looking at your app as much, and will not rely on it to purchase the staples I usually get through your service. My bigger purchases will not equate to the many little ones I've made, and the merchant will lose out on impulse purchases.
I've extolled the virtues of Flashfood to many people since 2017, showing friends and strangers its benefits. These fees impede my motivation to purchase through FF and my endorsement of the app and service. I am discouraged as a customer, disappointed by the introduction of the fees, and now the implementation of a minimum fee.
Please, Flash Food, PLEASE remove service fees.
